Two weeks into 2012 Shirt released the album named “The Fuck.” A press release at the time stated the album’s recording sessions had been lost when Shirt’s rental car was broken into and his computer, harddrives, and other valuables were stolen on a trip to Miami Art Basel that past December. Not having the individual Protool sessions anymore meant that no updated mix of the records could be produced, no TV or “clean” versions could be made, and the vocals had to be left as is. The album only survived because Shirt had burned a cd of the rough mixes of the songs to play in the car. The album’s cover art was designed by Shirt and Stephen Billick.
