Crazy I Started Rapping On Beats (2024)

Debuting the work at the Brooklyn venue Mood Ring, in the back room under low light, Shirt hunched over a beat machine on the floor, playing loud music and performing vocals. Beginning the performance with no introduction or explanation, Shirt brought out a large piece of white paper and mumbling, began scribbling lyrics with a sharpie, looping the music, writing to the song live. Later in the performance he would huddle on the floor in the corner of the room against the wall and rap a song reading from his phone.
