Sharpie on masking tape on embroidered cotton twill hat
Including the hat in an online shop of new and sample items, music, small artworks, prints and ideas, Shirt released it for sale in early December. The unstructered hat, embroidered with the word Balenciaga in white across the front, and a simple piece of masking tape applied on top of the embroidery that reads ‘Balance’ in permanent sharpie marker, references a hat Kanye West was rarely photographed wearing. While Kanye’s hat was likely an authentic Balenciaga hat modified and not a bootleg, it is unclear who applied the tape and and wrote “Balance” on it.
