Just Do It (2018)

Krink marker and spray paint on canvas print, 39.5 x 59 inches

The photograph depicting Shirt’s Matisse On The Rhine (2017) was taken by Brigham Baker at the request of Shirt on the morning he put his almost 15 foot Matisse Blue Nude sculpture into place on the Rhine River in Basel, Switzerland. The sculpture lasted 42 days unscathed before dissapearing and not being located since. One year later in 2018, Shirt printed the photograph onto large canvas paper before painting “Just Do It” over the work and posting video of the action to instagram here.
