Breaking Ground (2017)

On his first trip to Berlin, Shirt painted a Nike adidas-motif installation through the entrance of the retail space Voo Store. Shirt finalized the idea earlier the same day after going to the Opera the night before and "sitting on the 2nd floor of the theatre looking down onto the stage." Duct Tape (2017) tees were available at Berlin’s Voo Store in the Kreuzberg district and offered free of charge to whoever could get to the store location in time. Over a few days, due to heavy foot traffic in the area and the nature of the chalk paint used, the work faded away.
